Title: Proposed Lidl Store Brighton Rd, S Croydon
Post by Phil_Thomas on Apr 9th, 2014 at 12:48pm
Lidl have been writing to occupiers/owners, in a large area, including to some Riddlesdown residents, seeking views on a proposal to build a Lidl store and flats on the vacant car dealership/petrol station site at 375 - 401 Brighton Rd, South Croydon, next door to the Newton, Honda garage.

Their intention, is to demolish the vacant buildings and erect a new foodstore, 64 car parking and 40 flats above the store with their own parking.

There is a public consultation event, on Wednesday 23 April 2014, at St Giles Primary School, Pampisford Rd, S Croydon from 5pm to 8pm.

Although this is outside the RRA area, the RRA would like to hear from residents about any comments/concerns they may have. Please either post comments below or e-mail the RRA separately.

Croydon Council's Planning Committee approved this planning application on 4 December 2014 (14/02288/P), for a Lidl supermarket, 42 residential units and 105 parking spaces. The site is the former vacant BMW garage, next to the Newton Honda dealership at 375-401 Brighton Rd, S Croydon.
